Director Ryu Seung-wan’s film ‘Veteran 2’ has been officially invited to the Special Presentations section of the 49th Toronto International Film Festival. This marks the second international festival appearance for Veteran 2 following its debut at the 77th Cannes Film Festival’s Midnight Screening section in May.

The invitation of Veteran 2 comes nine years after the first film in the series, Veteran, was showcased in the Vanguard section of the Toronto International Film Festival, drawing significant attention from the film industry.

Notably, the festival ranks among the top four international film festivals alongside Cannes, Berlin, and Venice, attended by major players in the North American film industry. This presents an opportunity to reaffirm Veteran 2‘s international stature and artistic accomplishment.

Veteran 2, an action-crime thriller, follows Detective Seo Do-cheol (Hwang Jung-min) and his junior partner, Detective Park Sun-woo (Jung Hae-in), as they pursue a serial killer. The film is scheduled for release in South Korean theaters on September 13.
