SK Telecom-Lambda Accelerates AI Infrastructure with New GPU Data Center

SK Telecom announced on August 21 that it plans to open an AI data center in Gasan, Seoul, this December in collaboration with the US GPUaaS company, Lambda.

This initiative follows the partnership agreement between the two companies to expand their AI cloud business based on a stable supply of GPUs.

GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) allows customers to develop and utilize AI services without having to purchase GPUs directly, using cloud resources instead.

SK Telecom plans to expand the domestic supply of GPUs and strengthen its competitiveness in both domestic and international markets through this service.

Lambda will establish its first Korean region in the Asia-Pacific area through this collaboration, with SK Telecom launching its GPUaaS service in December utilizing Lambda’s GPU resources.

This partnership will enable SK Telecom to establish the largest GPU Farm in Korea and create a bridgehead for entering global markets. The collaboration with Lambda is expected to significantly accelerate SK Telecom’s growth in the AI market.
