Nongshim announced on September 10 that it will launch a new cup noodle product, Shin Ramyun Toomba Big Bowl, on the 23rd of this month.

This product is based on the popular “Shin Ramyun Toowoomba” modisumer (modified consumer) recipe, which combines Shin Ramyun with milk, cheese, shrimp, bacon, and other ingredients.

The Shin Ramyun Toomba recipe first gained attention in 2016 and has since become a favorite among consumers for its unique blend of spicy and creamy flavors.

According to big data analytics firm RSN, content related to Shin Ramyun Toomba has seen an average annual growth of 13% over the past three years. Additionally, a consumer survey conducted by Nongshim last year showed that approximately 60% of those in their teens and twenties had heard of or tried the recipe.

A Nongshim representative commented, “Consumers today are seeking diverse sensory experiences within the realm of spicy flavors. Shin Ramyun Toomba allows them to enjoy the signature spicy taste of Shin Ramyun along with rich, creamy textures and flavors in one dish.”

The Shin Ramyun Toomba Big Bowl was developed to make the Shin Ramyun Toomba recipe more accessible and convenient, anytime and anywhere. The product blends the spicy flavor of Shin Ramyun with the creamy and rich taste of fresh cream, cheddar cheese, and Parmesan cheese, creating a thick, satisfying texture.

The addition of dried ingredients like mushrooms, garlic, and bok choy enhances the overall quality. It can also be prepared in the microwave for a richer sauce flavor.

Nongshim plans to launch the Shin Ramyun Toomba brand globally in the near future. The representative added, “Shin Ramyun Toomba reinterprets a familiar cream pasta with the spicy flavor of Shin Ramyun, making it highly competitive in global markets. We expect the brand to become beloved across various cultures worldwide.”

The Shin Ramyun Toomba Big Bowl will be available from September 23 at convenience stores, large supermarkets, and e-commerce platforms nationwide.
