Woowa Brothers Ready for ‘Dilly’ Delivery Robot Deployment 제이샤인, 2024년 08월 11일2024년 08월 11일 Woowa Brothers Announce Expansion Plans for ‘Dilly’ Robot Delivery Woowa Brothers, operators of the popular delivery app Baedal Minjok, announced that their self-developed delivery robot, ‘Dilly,’ has obtained an Outdoor Robot Operation Safety Certification on July 26th. This certification is crucial for the launch of robot delivery services in specific areas of Seoul and the surrounding regions. The certification enables Dilly to freely travel on sidewalks and pedestrian crossings, significantly expanding the areas eligible for delivery services. The certification aligns with the Intelligent Robot Development and Distribution Promotion Act passed last year, which requires robots operating in areas defined as sidewalks under traffic laws to be certified. The certification process evaluates 16 criteria including operating speed, stability, security, and control systems. Dilly passed all these criteria, becoming the sixth robot in South Korea to achieve this certification. The robot is designed to operate at a maximum speed of 15 km/h and weighs under 500 kg. It is equipped with six independent suspensions and independently movable front and rear wheels, ensuring stable mobility. Additionally, Dilly can carry up to 30 kg of goods and has a cargo capacity of 25.6 liters, enough to hold six 2-liter water bottles. With this certification, Woowa Brothers plans to officially launch robot delivery services in select areas of Seoul and the Gyeonggi region. This initiative is expected to address the shortage of delivery personnel during peak demand times and perform deliveries that are typically avoided by human couriers. The company has stated that it will accelerate the development of its technology based on this certification.
